DigitalFish has an immediate need for a Production Data Wrangler to serve a critical role in maintaining the integrity of data throughout a new augmented-reality production pipeline. The ideal candidate takes great pride in their attention to detail, has the organizational ability to help control the flow of information and excels in working closely with colleagues from a broad range of backgrounds, from artists to engineers. In this role you will develop broad familiarity with many of the software tools and processes used in the post-production of AR and animated content.

This is a contract position with the possibility of extending to become a full-time-employment position in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the inbound and outbound flow of production data between the central studio and external partners
  • Manage production file servers, monitoring free space and maintaining directory structures
  • Identify, report on, correct, and help find solutions to prevent errors encountered in distributing digital assets (for example, in file organization and naming conventions)
  • Support production dailies and reviews on target hardware devices
  • Provide first-tier asset-publishing technical support and work with Engineering to optimize publishing processes
  • Seek ways to improve pipeline consistency and efficiency through improved processes and scripted automation
  • Coordinate testing with cross-functional teams to help determine readiness for release

Job Requirements

  • BS/BA in Animation, Film, Digital Art or other relevant area of study, or equivalent work experience
  • Solid experience with data handling in a production environment, ideally in an animation or VFX studio
    Demonstrated respect for procedures and requirements within large-scale production pipelines, particularly the importance of data integrity and naming conventions
  • High level of computer literacy and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Scripting experience is desirable
  • Proven ability to analyze and problem-solve in varied technical domains
  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage and prioritize time and workload
  • Great attention to detail in recording information accurately and produce reports
  • Enthusiastic team player, striving to maximize team/department performance
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

This is a contract position on-site in Menlo Park, CA with free transportation available from much of the Bay Area.
