DigitalFish has an immediate need for a Lead Game Engineer to help us create the future of social play in mixed reality (AR/VR/MR).

Candidates for this position should have at least five years of relevant work experience.


  • Work closely with product and project managers, designers and art leads to understand requirements and translate those to user stories and specifications for engineering and art production
  • Help shape requirements and asset specs based on engineering constraints
  • Take ownership over engineering scope, planning, and scheduling changes
  • Guide development day-to-day to help developers remain on track and address blocking issues
  • Participate as a senior developer on the team, implementing features and mentoring other developers
  • Build a scalable platform for the parallel development, QA and release of games and experiences
  • Coordinate delivery of games and experiences with creative and technical teams

Job Requirements

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or related engineering field
  • Minimum 5 years of professional development experience in C++/C#
  • 5+ years experience in large-scale projects for VR, games, VFX, broadcast or film
  • Strong Unity experience on multiple projects and platforms
  • Solid general programming, architecture- and algorithm-design skills
  • Good understanding of 3D graphics fundamentals
  • Working experience with Agile/Scrum
  • Self-motivated with strong communication skills and able to work both in a team and independently
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

This is a full-time position on-site in Menlo Park, CA with free transportation available from much of the Bay Area.
