DigitalFish has an immediate need for a Senior Game Designer to help us define the future of social games in mixed reality (AR/VR/MR).

Please note: Candidates for this position should have a primary focus on game and puzzle design. UX designers with a deep interest and some practical background in game design could be a fit for related roles. If you're a programmer first, this isn't the right position for you.   • Craft designs for engaging puzzles and games that drive social connection in augmented and mixed reality
  • Explore and capitalize on unique opportunities afforded by novel AR/MR interaction modes
  • Create intuitive user flows, applying your deep knowledge of UX best practices in novel settings
  • Help to drive the UX/UI directions of next-gen AR/MR platforms as applied to play
  • Communicate design ideas through wireframes, paper prototypes and semi-functional mockups
  • Research and deconstruct play systems in existing games


  • Clear history of passion and talent for game and puzzle design in varied forms, digital and non-digital
  • Demonstrated success designing and shipping successful games in collaborative production teams
  • Experience in game or UX design for augmented or virtual reality, with examples we can see
  • Currency in trends in games and puzzles, particularly around social gaming and new media forms
  • Excellent multi-modal communication skills: spoken, written and visual
  • Love of multi-disciplinary collaboration with experts from diverse backgrounds
  • Creative thinker and accomplished do-er: non-technical degrees are encouraged, especially if in creative/artistic fields
  • Be prepared to present a strong portfolio of design docs, game prototypes, gameplay analysis and related materials

Bonus Experience

  • Ability to build functional mockups, for example in Unity
  • Experience in user interface design and visual/art direction
  • Experience working alongside digital artists, especially in a 3D context
  • Familiarity with user-experience testing and design analysis
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology

This is a full-time position on-site in Menlo Park, CA with free transportation available from much of the Bay Area.
